Shower Numero Dos

Sarah had my second and final shower this weekend. It was a lot of fun and it was nice to be able to relax and not have to work so hard. I was very grateful for everyone helping out. It was kinda sad (lots of husband stories) and very scarey (LOTS of freaky labor and yuckiness stories). But, it was good to spend time with people I haven't seen in awhile. It was fun because it was the group of us who will be participating in the Year of the Baby celebration. 3 of the women have had babies in the past 6 months and two of us are due in November. Jenn got two puppies, so I told her that totally counted:-)

Shower Numero Uno

I had my first shower this weekend at my mom's. It was exhausting and a lot of work, but I was really happy to see people that I loved and cared about. I have some wonderful friends that I am very thankful for. I can't wait for Kenna to meet them. My favorite pictures involve the ones where I cover my face :-)

I am curious as to whether Miss Kennedy has enough clothes? If you will consult the image, you will see that I have more than an outfit or two for her. :-) I have also realized that I need to get a life, so that I have social functions to attend and show off her plentiful wardrobe :-)

Braxton who?

I had the start of Braxton Hicks contractions tonight. It scared the crap out of me! Very strange. I was hoping I wouldn't really have them much. I've heard lots of "horror" stories of women thinking they were having B.H.Cs and not going to the hospital, then by the time they figured it out, it was too late for drugs. No thank you!!! :-)

Kennedy also got to attend her first concert today. Well, concert sound check, but lets not get technical. I was bummed because I can't be downtown tomorrow for the big partay on the circle. Well, I went to get some dinner before I left work today and Faith Hill was doing her rehearsal/sound check! It was awesome. Kenna was jammin'

Wide Load

I think I need one of those orange triangles, a flashing light escort, and one of those banners to identify me as a slow moving, wide load vehicle. :-) For those of you who have ever walked anywhere with me, you know that me moving slowly is a rare event. I realize that I'm not really all that big yet, but I feel like it and am concerned about how big I will get over the next 10 weeks.

Also, I decided that I will never be able to have Kenna's picture taken as one of those cute naked baby pictures....she has too many clothes for me to have her picture taken without them! :-)

Cuteness!

We had a 4D ultrasound today and we could kind of see her face! She apparently is not a fan of the paparazzi. As soon as she figures out that we're trying to get her picture, she tries to turn away. Oh well, I was excited to see her face!

Update

I haven't posted in forever, mainly for two reasons: a) nothing exciting to post, and b) nobody reads this anyway! :-) Once there are baby pictures and other cute things to put up, I will probably work harder at spreading the word. Anyway, I'm pretty much at that boring stage of pregnancy. Nothing much is happening, other than getting fatter...(I started thinking about how much wait I will have to lose to get back down to where I want/need to be. I cried.) I've had an incident with falling on the stairs that was pretty scarey and painful- and included an embarassing moment that I can share when I am more ready to think about the funniness than the scariness. Since this past Friday didn't go as planned, I will be trying the 4D ultra-sound thing on this Friday. Somehow, I'm pretty sure that she won't be cooperative since she is related to both Devin and I! Oooh, that reminds me of something good, since I had some ultrasounds this weekend, I have further confirmation that yes, she is a girl. Whew! Because a little boy would look pretty silly in the ADORABLE girl clothes I have so far :-) Speaking of adorable....in case someone actually does look at this, you HAVE to go visit katiemayes.blogspot.com to see picture of Madeline Mayes, who is so freaking cute! Alright, that's enough writing for my own amusement. Hopefully, I will actually have exciting stuff to post after ultrasounds and showers in the coming weeks. Then people can read this! :-)

Ugh

So, I just put on a pair of jeans I bought to wear while pregnant, and they are too small! :-( This, combine with the underwear challenge, and a whole bunch of too-small shoes, makes for one depressed fat chick. I know, I know, I'm pregnant, not fat. But let's face it, every woman wants to be like those adorable women on the pregnancy magazines that is a skinny, little beautiful thing with just a belly. However, I guess that means you would have to start as a skinny, little beautiful thing, right? :-) Hahaha. Anyway, Kennedy is moving around like crazy. I have a doctors appointment on Monday and I really want to ask her about the effects of stress on the baby. I'm exhausted, and hope I can sleep tonight. Alright, enough whining for one day. Off to bed.
