Thanksgiving

Ok, the first ones aren't Thanksgiving, but she loves her swing, and I am very thankful for it. :-)

Let me know if you get an understanding of how Miss Kennedy spent her first Thanksgiving. Do you think she will ever have to learn to walk? :-)

It's Like Traveling With a Celebrity

Every time I go somewhere with her, people stop to look at her and talk to me. I realize that this happens with all babies, but as a still relatively new mom who always kinda looks like those bad pictures of Brittney Spears going to Starbucks in her sweats, I prefer to go un-noticed. However, I do understand why they like to stop and look at her. Especially since she is pretty tiny, and she usually has on a cute outfit. :-)

TOUCHDOWN!!

3 weeks???

I can't believe she has been with us for 3 weeks now! I love watching her grow each day, but it also makes me kinda sad. I am excited to see how she grows and changes, but I also wish I could take the day she was born and freeze it in time. Ya know what I mean, jelly bean?

She is starting to look around more now and have more "quiet alert" time. However, she is still not interested in sleeping much at night. I know I should be sleeping during the day when she sleeps, but most of the time, that's just not possible. She makes the funniest faces whenever I try to take her picture and she's awake. I'm getting her one month/Christmas pictures taken the week after Thanksgiving, and I'm hoping the professionals can get some good ones :-)

I find it amusing that I am a notorious multi-tasker and try to do zillion things at once (usually too much) but I am completely content just sitting and watching her for hours.

Sleepless in Indianapolis

She is amazing and wonderful and adorable and exhausting. I don't think I have slept more than two hours in two weeks. She's worth it, but it makes it hard to function sometimes :-)

She came three weeks early but she is healthy and amazing!

It's amazing how much you can love someone that is so new and so tiny. I'm terrified. She's the most important thing I have ever done.

Now I just have to get the rest of my life straightened out! :-)

Time Crunch

Craporama. I had the first of my weeky appointments today. That is scarey enough itself (and highly uncomfortable), but she said that I am about 2 cm dialated and 75% effaced. She wagered a guess that I would not make it to my due date. I hope she is wrong! I know that being dialated doesn't mean much because you can be dialated for weeks before you go into labor. But just her talking about me going early freaked me out. I was hoping she would come a little late! I need to establish my living situation, write 3 papers, get winter guard started, finish up stuff at work etc. etc. etc. I realized that God and Mother Nature don't really have much concern for my schedule, I just know that I was already stressed out enough thinking that she would be coming in about 4 weeks. The thought of her coming in like 2??? That's way less time for me to get a better handle on things. Pray.

Getting Closer....

It just occured to me that tomorrow is October 1st. At first I was just thinking,"Wow, I can't believe how fast the year is moving." THEN I realized that it will be OCTOBER....which is the month right before NOVEMBER????? Crap. I'm excited and ready, and completely terrified, freaked, and not ready all at the same time. So much stuff is a mess, and I need to get it sorted out before she gets here, so she is not brought into the mess. Ugh.



We had another ultrasound on Friday. I feel like she looks so different than she did in the first one. They grow up so fast :-) Now I'm just worried because everyone kept saying, "Ooh, look at those chubby little cheeks!" Chubby cheeks? Doesn't those usually connect to a large head? That I have to push out? Oh no. :-)
